1:1 Leadership Coaching
Maximize the potential of the people you lead.
Coaching for leaders who carry the weight of the business and the people counting on them. Clearer thinking, better decisions, and a team that grows because you did.
A trusted advisor, not just a sounding board.
Some decisions you can't fully work through with your team, because you are their leader. Some conversations you can't have with a peer, because you need someone outside the situation. Coaching gives you that place: somewhere to slow down, question your assumptions, and leave knowing what you will do next.
Throughout the leadership coaching process, we will focus not just on your growth but also on the growth of the people you lead. Coaching helps you make the right one sooner.

What a trusted advisor brings
Candor
Honest, direct feedback, given with care. No flattery and no agenda, just a clear view of what is working and what is holding you back.
Confidentiality
What you share stays private, so you can think out loud about the people, pressures, and doubts you can't raise anywhere else.
Commitment to you
The focus stays on your goals and your people. Each conversation ends with something you will act on, and the next one picks up where you left off.
Inspired by Charles H. Green's Trust Equation, The Trusted Advisor.
Leadership is measured by what happens in the people you lead. The goal is not to become a better individual performer. It is to become the kind of leader who helps other people perform, grow, and eventually lead.
What leaders gain
Focus
Clear priorities, and a calendar that reflects them.
Courage
Hard conversations held sooner and handled better.
Leverage
Delegation that sticks, so your team grows and you get time back.
Confidence
Decisions made with confidence.
Legacy
A stronger bench of leaders behind you.

Who it is for
Owners and executives
You set the direction and carry the outcome. Coaching sharpens both.
Leaders and managers
You were promoted for your skill. Coaching builds the skills that come next.
Rising talent
Your organization is investing in you. Coaching makes that investment pay.
Indecision usually costs more than a wrong call.
How it works
01
Introductory call.
Thirty minutes, at no cost. We decide together whether coaching is the right fit.
02
Assessment.
Your goals, your team, your results, and optional 360 feedback from the people you lead.
03
Development plan.
You leave with one or two specific commitments, written as simple "when this happens, I will do this" rules for the moments that matter most.
04
Coaching sessions.
Regular, close-together conversations keep the work fresh. You bring real situations from the past week, while the details still matter.
05
Measure.
You look back at where you started and see in concrete terms what has changed in you and in your team.
Formats
Executive coaching
Ongoing, for owners and senior leaders.
Group coaching
Two to eight leaders from one organization working through the same challenges together.
Common questions
- How is coaching different from mentoring or consulting?
- A consultant gives you answers, and a mentor shares what worked for them. Coaching builds your own judgment, so your answers hold up when Steve isn't in the room. Coaching draws on the Maxwell Leadership method, applied to your real decisions.
- Is it confidential?
- Yes. What you share stays between us. When an organization sponsors coaching, we agree up front on what gets reported, and it is progress, not conversations.
- In person or virtual?
- Either. In person across Illinois and the Midwest, and virtual anywhere.
- What does it cost?
- It depends on the format and length. You will see the number before you commit.
The best time to invest in a leader is before you need to.
Start with one honest conversation.
